The Boiling Crab is a seafood restaurant in Torrance, California. It is listed at 22901 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90505, which places it among the local businesses of Torrance that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 3–9 pm. Torrance is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Torrance is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

The food here is great, though the menu can be a bit confusing at first when it comes to how items are weighed and ordered per pound versus other menu items. Thankfully, our server explained the setup clearly and guided us through it. The restaurant has a very positive, energetic atmosphere, even if the decor is a little lacking in character and background music. Prices felt a little on the higher side, though given current inflation, it's hard to judge fair market value for fresh seafood. My main gripe was the lack of small seafood picks to easily get all the meat out of the crab, as they only provided larger utensils. Overall, a very tasty and enjoyable meal!

We went there for Sunday but the waiting time was 40mins to 1 hour, the only time we did not bother making a reservation is the time we badly needed it. But the good news is that our server was really nice, I think she was called Kimberly (hope I am not mistaken) She explained the menu very well and even had some recommendations for us, the best was shrimp and calamari. Would definitely go back but this time with a reservation ahead of time.

First time at the Torrance Boiling Crab. We usually hit up the Euclid location but we were in Pedro and Shrimp came to mind. Overall it's good. I'll still go back our spot. The service was not the same. It was busy. But it's always busy at the Boiling Crab . We were done with our food by the time they checked on us for refills. We always get the triple xxx on an order and people share. But I think we go because of the burn. So not all bad. I forgot the Niners were playing, huge tvs to watch the game.

I decided to treat myself and ordered the king crab legs, shrimp, corn, rice, and a couple margaritas. Spent about $200, and the food was definitely on point when it came to flavor. The crab legs were meaty, and the spice level was just rightβ€”nice and bold the way I like it. The shrimp, though, wasn’t really for me. I had one shrimp, but I can’t do shrimp that isn’t cleaned properly. Ended up taking it home, deshelling, and cleaning it myself and making another dish Next time, I’ll probably try something else off the menu instead. The margaritas? You can skip those. Way too weak for the price. Next round I might just bring my own β€œfast-pour” shot on the low and fix that problem myself (don’t tell nobody). Overall, pricey but solid seafood if you’re craving a good crab fix.

This was my first visit to The Boiling Crab, and I’m so glad I went! I arrived around 5pm on a Tuesday and was seated right away. My server, Justin, was fantastic! Justin was friendly, patient, and super helpful in explaining the menu and answering all my questions. I ordered a seafood bag for two and went all in: Dungeness crab, lobster, shrimp, corn, sausage, and potatoes with the Medium spice 'Extra Juicy' Shabang sauce (incredible!). I also added Cajun onion rings and a Michelada, which had the perfect spicy kick. The food came out even faster than the 10–15 minute estimate. This place isn’t just about the delicious food, it’s an experience. The table is lined with butcher paper, everyone gets a bib and hand wipes, and you eat with your hands (no cutlery, just seafood tools). Once the bag hit the table, we dumped it out and dove in, etiquette aside! We were stuffed before we could even finish. Highly recommend for seafood lovers looking for flavor, fun, and great service.
